Cooperation in this area will rise in the future, bringing more opportunities for Chinese software developers."
Kong suggests the industry closely follow the country's new strategies that aim to address information security while also developing technologies against new problems.
"The information security industry will develop in two directions. One is to help ensure national security. The other is to deal with new challenges brought by emerging applications based on cloud, big-data and mobile internet platforms."
China has the world's largest online population, nearing 650 million, a total that outnumbers the entire U.S. population two to one.
While addressing the opening ceremony of the expo on Wednesday, Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said the country is striving to develop a more reliable information system and a comprehensive capability 7 to ensure information security.
The expo is the largest and the most influential 8 international software show in China.
More than 600 software companies from home and abroad attend this year's event.
