MADRID, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid caoch Jose Mourinho celebrated 1 his side's 32nd league title in Spain with a brief interview with the club's official television station on Thursday.
Mourinho's side clinched 2 the title with a 3-0 win away to Athletic 3 Club Bilbao to assure second place FC Barcelona are now unable to catch them in the table.
"We scored so many goals and have won so many games with high quality football that we have to celebrate. The players have been fantastic all season all season and they deserve it. The title is very well deserved," he said.
"I have won titles in Portugal, Italy and England, but this was the hardest, but nobody gave us any gifts," said Mourinho after a game in which Madrid's rivals ended up with 10 men after Javi Martinez was sent off for handball.
"This title is the most important of all and it belongs to all of us, while those who suffer with this club have all contributed their grain of sand. It is difficult, but it is deserved," he insisted.
FC Barcelona reacted quickly to Madrid's title, publishing an official congratulations in their twitter account, but coach Pep Guardiola, did point the finger at some refereeing 4 decisions he felt had gone against his side over the course of the season.
Barca were given two penalties 5 in their 4-1 win against Malaga, but Guardiola found it hard to celebrate them.
"I feel bad about the penalties, because now we don't need them and it' s a bit late... A lot of things have happened that have been hidden by our silence," said Guardiola.
Guardiola was also asked about whether his decision to abandon the club at the end of the season was to abandon the game for good and he admitted that sooner or later he would return to coaching because he would need football again in the future.
