BEIRUT, May 14 (Xinhua) -- The Lebanon Internal Security Forces (ISF) discovered Wednesday a weapon stockpile in Abi Samra neighborhood in the northern city of Tripoli, the ISF said in a communique.
"Tripoli's Abi Samra Gendarmes 1 Station raided an apartment in Hawoot Street in Abi Samra and confiscated 2 quantities of arms and ammunition 3 found in the apartment, during the implementation 5 of a security plan in the North," the ISF communique said, adding that the investigations 6 are underway.
It revealed that rocket-propelled grenades, Energa anti-tank rifle grenades and light and medium machine guns were found and confiscated.
The government has tasked the Lebanese army and security forces to implement 4 a "security plan" to restore calm in Tripoli that witnessed many rounds of deadly violence related to the Syrian crisis.
