USADA release strong evidence for Lance Armstrong doping case
WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency on Wednesday issued a 1000-page investigation 1 report full of evidence that shows the world's most famous cyclist Lance Armstrong is a dope cheat.
In the report, there were testimonies 2 from 26 people including 11 former teammates that Armstrong of doping.
The report gave many vivid details to portrait Armstrong as a man, who spent no expense to win the seven Tour de France titles that the anti-doping agency has ordered taken away.
The report also presented that fact that Armstrong's former team U.S. Postal 3 Service, where Armstrong was the focal point, was operated in a way to win without being caught.
USADA CEO Travis Tygart said: "The evidence shows beyond any doubt that the U.S. Postal Service Pro 4 Cycling Team ran the most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen."
Facing USADA's investigation, Armstrong has claimed Tygart has a vendetta 5 against him and he dropped any further challenges to USADA's accusation 6 in August.
USADA then stripped him of his Tour titles from 1999-2005 and banned him for life.
USADA's action drew criticisms from Armstrong and many of his supporters and even prompted three death threats against Tygart.
Tygart, however, believed they were not biased 7 and Armstrong could have stood out to testify as any other cyclists but he rejected the chance.
"Lance Armstrong was given the same opportunity to come forward and be part of the solution. He rejected it," said Tygart.
"We focused solely 8 on finding the truth without being influenced by celebrity 9 or non-celebrity, threats, personal attacks or political pressure because that is what clean athletes deserve and demand," he added.
