Olympic cycling champion Wiggins injured in car crash

LONDON, Nov. 07 (Xinhua) -- Tour de France champion and Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins was hit by a car while riding near his home, police said on Wendesday.
Wiggins was sent to hospital after the accident.
The 32-year-old was thrown off his bicycle when hit by a car believed to have pulled out of a petrol station.
Wiggins' Team Sky said in a statement that the injury was "not thought to be serious".
"He is being kept in hospital overnight 1 for observation but the injuries he has sustained 2 are not thought to be serious and he is expected to make a full and speedy recovery," said the statement.
