China says it opposes any infringement 1 on its sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands committed by Japanese aircraft or vessels 2 and remains 3 vigilant 4 against attempts to commit such acts.

"The Diaoyu Island and its affiliated 6 islets have been China's inherent territory. Patrols conducted by Chinese planes and ships in waters off the islands represent normal administrative 7 activities for the purpose of exercising jurisdiction 8."
This is in response of Japan's allegedly warning shots at Chinese planes patrolling the islands.
China's Defense 9 Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun said last month that the country's military is closely monitoring the activities of Japanese air self-defense forces near the islands.
