   1、Breaking news当新闻是breaking的时候,并不是指破裂了,而是指当前正在发生最新的新闻报道。例如"We've got some important, breaking news for you tonight."


  2、"This just in..."新闻报道者喜欢使用这个短语向观众介绍breaking news,也就是告诉我们此条新闻是最新的。"This just in, a new candidate has decided 1 to run for mayor."
  3、Top story如果你在新闻中听到这些词时需要特别注意,这意味着新闻里正在报道最重要的新闻信息。例如,你可能听到,"In our top story, we'll take a look at the ongoing 2 criminal investigation 3."
  4、In-depth coverage 4有时新闻节目只提供新闻故事的概述,但有时他们也播放top stories的in-depth coverage Coverage指的是对新闻故事的报道,而in-depth是指非常详细的意思。
  5、"Our sources tell us..."新闻报道者的工作不是编造故事,而是依赖于sources,或是被采访的人来向他们提供事实。当报道者不希望指出他们sources的来源话,他们可以用以上的短语开始报道。
  6、Exclusive interview新闻社常常互相竞争以此获得重要sources的exclusive interviews。这意味着他们是唯一一个有着新闻来源的电视台。
  7、Stay tuned 5这个短语是“请继续收看”的另一种说法。新闻播报者使用这个短语来介绍接下来的报道以吊住观众的胃口,这样他们就不会转换频道了。 "Stay tuned for our exclusive interview with the key witness to the crime."
  8、Reporting live有时新闻主持人在事件发生后报道新闻,而有时新闻记者在事件发生的地方进行report live。 如:"This is Jill, reporting live at the White House."
  9、At the scene当记者report live,他们通常在事件现场报道新闻。或是,换句话说,他们 at the scene(在事件现场)。 比如说:"Let's hear from John, who's reporting live at the scene."
  10、Now, back to you.。.当该是at the scene的记者作结束语时,他们通常会用这个表达方式将观众的视角转回到电视台工作室内的主持人那里。如: "Now, back to you Lisa."
