“小三”用英语怎么说

“第三者”常译为the third party，但这种说法可以指任何事情的当事人以外的“第三方”，没有贬义。作为影响他人婚姻的“第三者”，倒可借用英语里比较婉转的说法the other woman/man。
“小三”这一称呼大多指女性，从某种意义上说，她们也是受害者(victims)，所以可将“小三”译为the poor other woman。有人在网上专门为她们开设了“小三论坛”，可称为Tribune of the Poor Other Woman。
至于“小三文化”，笔者认为这一说法不好。现在社会上各种“文化”泛滥(run rampant)，西方也有人对culture一词的乱用颇有微词，说：In this way, whatever people do monkeys don’t，can be called “culture”. 笔者觉得，时髦汉语中许多带有“文化”的词语不宜，也不值得翻译成culture。
据说“小三论坛”很是红火(prosperous, even smashing)，但是在“小三论坛”发表文章的不仅有“小三”们自怨自艾的述说(complaints full of remorse)，也有咄咄逼人的宣战(overbearing declaration of war)，居然还有人为她们提出“扶正指南”。
受到伤害的妻子们当然不甘心(not reconciled)，于是她们发起反击，进行“婚姻保卫战”(launch a war to defend their marriage)，提出要严打(crack down on)“小三”们，有人甚至提出“小三过街人人喊打！”(Everyone should shout “beat them” when they see the other women!)的口号。
可见“小三论坛”虽然使这些“不放手———痛苦，放手———也痛苦”(suffer bitterness either continue or end such relations)的女性有了宣泄的地方(a place to give vent 1 to their bitterness)，但这并非解决问题的根本办法(ways to eradicate 2 this phenomenon)。
