German Bundesliga kicks off on August 27

BERLIN, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The German Soccer League (DFL) revealed the match fixtures 2 for the 50th Bundesliga season on Tuesday.
The fixture 1 schedule of the season 2012/2013 starts, as always, with the Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund to encounter Werder Bremen for the opener at the Signal Iduna Park on 27th August.
It starts with the same clash as the first Bundesliga season ever in 1963/1964 started. "The fixture between Dortmund and Bremen is very rich in tradition. On 24th August 1963 Timo Konietzka scored the first Bundesliga goal ever for Dortmund against Bremen," Dortmund chairman of the board Hans Joachim Watzke said.
Moreover, promoted team Greuther Fuerth encounter runners-up and German record champions Bayern Munich while Schalke see Hannover. Last season's stunner team Monchengladbach meet Hoffenheim and Stuttgart face Wolfsburg.
Hamburg clash against Nuremberg as Mainz face Freiburg. Augsburg come together with newly promoted Dusseldorf and promoted Frankfurt play at Leverkusen.
The second half of the campaign of German Bundesliga starts on 18th January 2012. The 34th round is scheduled for 18th of May in 2013.
