 MADRID, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona opened up an eight-point lead over Real Madrid in the fourth round of matches in the BBVA Primera Liga in Spain.

Barcelona and Madrid both played their matches on Saturday night as a result of the coming week's Champions League commitments and Barca took advantage of their earlier kick-off time to pressure the side that seems destined 1 to be their rivals for the title.
