1.President Bush says he's vetoed the bill that would have banned the use of certain interrogation techniques like waterboarding. The bill provides guidelines for intelligence activities for the year. The interrogation requirement is one provision. House speaker Nancy Pelosi says Congress will try to override 1 Bush's veto next week.
2.Alabama police have arrested and charged a suspect in the abduction and killing 2 of Auburn University's student Lauren Burk. Burk was found shot on the side of the road about 5 miles from campus Tuesday night. She died later in a hospital.
3.Police in Chapel 3 Hill are releasing two surveillance photos of a possible suspect in the killing of a University of North Carolina student body president. Eve Carson was found shot to death early Wednesday, not far from campus. Police say the photos were taken at an ATM machine as the suspect used Carson's bank card.
4.Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher 4 has been released from a London hospital after reportedly feeling faint. A spokeswoman says the 82-year-old spent several nights there for medical checks. Thatcher has a history of strokes.
