Olympic badminton champion Lin Dan apologized on Thursday for cheating on his wife, hours after the affair was exposed online.

A user 1 calling himself 'Detective Zhao' posted pictures and gifs he claimed showed the two-time Olympic champion with a woman in October.

Other internet users 2 quickly identified her as Zhao Yaqi, a model and actress. The post had more than 200,000 reposts and 40,000 comments on Weibo.
其他网友很快扒出这名女子名叫赵雅琪，是一名模特兼演员。目前这条微博已经被转发超过了20多万次，评论40000多条。

"As a man, I don't defend what I have done. My behavior has hurt my family. Here, I apologize to my family. Sorry," Lin wrote on his Sina Weibo account in the early afternoon.

Lin's post received nearly 500,000 comments as of Thursday afternoon, some saying "I'm really so disappointed that my idol 3 did such shameful 4 thing” while some said "it doesn't change all the glories he won for the country".
