TOKYO —In a rare step Japan has presented an opinion to the U.S. Supreme 1 Court asking it to rule in favor of a suit seeking the removal of a “comfort women” statue in California Foreign Ministry 2 officials said Tuesday.
东京——日本外务省官员周二称，日本已经鲜见的向美国最高法院表达了自己的观点，要求法院作出有利于日本的判决，移除加州的一个“慰安妇”雕像。
The ministry presented an amicus curiae brief to the court which is considering the legality of a decision by the city of Glendale to allow the erection of the statue which symbolizes 3 women who were forced to work in wartime Japanese brothels.
