Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ in the Christian 1 religion three days after his death. It is considered to be the oldest Christian holiday and the most important day of the church year. 4. The custom of giving eggs at Easter dates back to an ancient Egyptian practice associating eggs with a symbol of life returning in spring.
