The State Council has given the green light to a long-awaited plan to connect the Shenzhen and Hong Kong stock exchanges, further opening China's capital market.

"Preparation for the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect has been generally completed and the State Council has approved the implementation 1 plan for the program," Premier 2 Li Keqiang said at a State Council executive meeting.
李克强总理在国务院常务会议上表示：“深港通相关准备工作已基本就绪，国务院已批准深港通实施方案。”
The move follows the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, adopted in 2014, which Li said has achieved the goals envisioned and earned positive feedback.
