INNSBRUCK, Austria, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- An unexpected aerial bomb from World War II was found at the city center site Thursday, leading to the postponement 1 of the daily medals ceremony at the inaugural 2 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG).
The aerial bomb from World War II, was discovered Thursday afternoon at a construction site at Bozner Platz, where main train station located. The medals ceremony, scheduled to start at 8:15 pm, will take place on Friday.
The bomb, though had been defused later, still scared the Games, which entered its seventh day.
South Korean team was still dominant 3 in the short track speed skating after Wednesday's clean sweep of two gold medals, as both of their skaters claimed gold medal in men's and women's 500 meters by beating Chinese skaters.
Shim Suk Hee of South Korea survived the challenge when facing two Chinese skaters in the final of women's 500m.
Chinese duo Xu Aili and Qu Chunyu had prepared a strategy to try to stop Shim, but it fell apart when Qu was sent from the ice after overtaking the Korean, who fell during the manoeuver. The judges decided 4 Qu had impeded 5 the South Korean during the pass and started the race again with only the three remaining finalists.
Shim took full control of the race from the restart, with Xu finishing second for silver and Italy's Nicole Martinelli claiming the bronze medal.
South Korea's Yoon Su Min and Lim Hyo Jun traded podium places from Wednesday's men's 1000 meters as they again filled the top two spots in the 500 meters. China's Hongzhi Xu took the Bronze medal, as he did in the 1000 meters.
