WASHINGTON, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland won the 111st US Open at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, on Sunday.
The 22-year-old won the title with a tournament record 16-under-par total of 268, carding a final round of 69 to win by eight strokes 1 from Jason Day of Australia who closed with a 68.
