French cyclists win gold, silver at U-23 road worlds

COPENHAGEN, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- French cyclist Arnaud Demare won gold on the fouth day of the UCI U-23 Road World Championships Friday.
Another Frenchman Adrien Petit grabbed 1 the silver medal.
Demare and Petit had solid performance in the last sprint 2 on the uphill finish, bringing a double victory to France that also became the fifth member of the goldclub,while Britain's Andrew Fenn got bronze.
Besides, Lucy Garner 3 from Britain won the first Road Race World Champion 2011 for women's junior in the morning's race.
In the medal standing 4 after four days and seven races, Australia still leads with two gold and two bronze medals, and Britain have now got five medals.
The host Denmark also had a wonderful performance so far, standing in the fourth place with one gold, one silver and one bronze medals.
Two more road races for junior men and elite 5 women will be held in in Rudersdal, north of Copenhagen, on Saturday.
