Egyptian president, Israeli PM discuss peace talks

CAIRO, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak on Thursday met with Israeli(以色列) Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who arrived earlier the day in Egypt's Red Sea resort Sharm el-Sheikh to discuss the obstacles faced by the stalled Middle East peace talks.
The meeting aims to push the peace talks forward after the United States announced in early December that it failed to convince the Israeli side to freeze its settlement activities.
According to Egypt's official MENA news agency, Mubarak has warned Israel over its strategy in the Middle East and blamed Israel for the stalled Middle East peace process.
