LOS ANGELES, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Veteran Academy Award winning-actor Morgan Freeman was honored with the American Film Institute (AFI) Life Achievement Award on Thursday, capping a career which saw the actor garnering 1 an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild 2 award.
Freeman, who celebrated 3 his 74th birthday last week, received the award at a star-studded ceremony（仪式典礼） held in Los Angeles. He is the second African American to receive the award after Sidney Poitier walked away with the honor in 1992.
