Croatia beats Macedonia 2-1 in World Cup qualifiers
SKOPJE, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Croatia beat Macedonia 2-1 in European zone World Cup 2014 Group A qualifiers on Friday evening in Skopje.
Even though Macedonia took the lead with a goal by Agim Ibraimi (16') but the Croatians came from behind with one goal in each half.
Vedran Corluka equalized with a short range shot 1 in the 33rd minute, before Ivan Rakitic scored from a free kick after poor performance by Macedonian goalkeeper Martin Bogatinov in 60th minute.
Croatia are now in the second place in Group A with seven points as leaders Belgium, who have better goal difference. Serbia are third with four points ahead of Wales 2 on three points, Scotland 3 (2) and Macedonia (1).
