ISLAMABAD, April 16 (Xinhua) -- At least five security personnel were killed and three others injured on Tuesday afternoon as a suicide bomber 1 targeted a check post in northwest tribal 2 region of Pakistan, local media reported.
According to the reports, the incident took place when a suicide bomber attacked an army check post in the Sadeghi area of Miranshah, the main town of Pakistan's northwestern tribal region of North Waziristan.
The suicide bomber exploded his explosives laden 3 jacket near the check post that killed three soldiers on the spot while leaving five others injured.
Security forces and army rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to the hospital in Miranshah where two more of the injured succumbed 4 to their injuries.
The incident took place when a fresh group of security personnel were taking charge of the check post.
Security forces cordoned 5 off the area and sealed all the roads in the area besides launching a search operation.
No group or militant 6 organization claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
