Bremen signs midfielder Eljero Elia until 2016

BERLIN, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Dutch international midfielder Eljero Elia transferred from Juventus to German side Werder Bremen, the club said in an official statement on Tuesday.
After long back and forth 1, Bundesliga side Bremen confirmed the signing of Eljero Elia on a four-year contract for a fee of 5.5 million euros (6.7 million dollars) following an unlucky season at Juventus.
"We are glad that Elia joined Werder Bremen. He already turned up at the team training," Bremen sports director Klaus Allofs said.
Already on Sunday Elia passed the medical check to join the squad 2 on Monday at the training camp in Norderney.
The 25-year-old Dutchmen knows the Bundesliga very well as he played for division rival Hamburg from 2009 until 2011 to score nine goals in 47 matches. Since 2009 he is also part of the " Elftal", the Dutch national team, where he netted two goals in 29 international caps.
"The two years at Hamburg got off my mind I will give everything for Werder Bremen. So far I feel very comfortable," said Elia, who will wear jersey 3 number 11 at the "Green Whites".
