BERLIN, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at the Supercup final owing to goals by Mario Mandzukic and Thomas Mueller, at Allianz Arena 1 on Sunday.
After five consecutive 2 losses last season to Dortmund, record champion Bayern Munich crushed the winning streak 3 by the "BVB" to lift the first title of the season 2012/2013 in front of 69,901 spectators at Allianz Arena.
Bayern new arrival Mandzukic, and Mueller ensured an early 2-0 lead. Dortmund got one back at the 75 minutes, which was too late for the defending Bundesliga champion.

"We overslept the first half when Bayern staged a good performance. I am happy that we played better at the second half but we accepted the loss due to first half," Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp said.
"At the first half we played very well and produced many opportunities but after the break Dortmund turned up to give us a hard time," Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes said.
