The 30-year-old singer was first rumored 3 for the Super Bowl halftime show back in August when The Wall Street Journal revealed Perry, Coldplay and Rihanna were among finalists for the high-profile job. At the time, it was rumored that the NFL had wanted artists to pay a portion of their post-halftime show income to the league as compensation for being picked. Perry, however, said she wouldn't participate in that pay-for-play scheme. "I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl," Perry said on ESPN back in October.

Perry joins Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Madonna, The Who, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2 as recent Super Bowl halftime show performers.
