A man in China has been put under investigation 1 for owning a large number of properties, authorities said last Thursday.

Xu Linbao, a worker at the People's Procuratorate of High-tech 2 District in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, is alleged 3 to own 149 housing units in the city together with family members, the Nanchang City People's Procuratorate said in a statement last Thursday.
据南昌市人民检察院上周四发布的一份声明表示，徐林保是江西省南昌市高新区人民检察院一名职工，他和家人在南昌共拥有149套房产。

According to the statement, Xu and his family purchased the houses from 1995 to 2015 at a cost of more than 110 million yuan (16 million U.S. dollars).
据这份声明表示，在1995年到2015年之间，徐林保及其家人用超过1.1亿元人民币（约合1600万美元）购置了这些房产。
Xu still owes loans of more than 96 million yuan to local banks. He was suspended from his post in October.
徐林保目前仍旧欠当地银行9600多万元的贷款。他从10月份开始就已经被停职了。
According to an initial investigation, Xu is suspected of fraudulent fund-raising with his son-in-law Long Yuewu, who was arrested for suspected credit card fraud in October.
据初步调查显示，徐林保涉嫌和他的女婿龙跃武诈骗集资，而龙跃武因涉嫌信用卡诈骗在10月份的时候就已被捕了。
Procurators have passed information about the case over to local police.
