Real Sociedad obtain Arsenal's Vela on loan

MADRID, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Real Sociedad got strengthened in attack to recieve Mexican International winger Carlos Vela from English Premier 1 League club Arsenal 2, the Spanish La Liga side confirmed on Tuesday.
"Real Sociedad have reached an agreement in principle with Arsenal that will see Carlos Vela join on loan for one season," read a statement on the Basque club's website.
"The deal depends on Carlos Vela passing a medical tomorrow in San Sebastian."
Real, who finished 15th in La Liga last season, appointed Frenchman Philippe Montanier as coach earlier this summer, but Vela is the first new player to join ahead of the new campaign.
Vela, 22 and who impressed at the World Cup last year, has been on the books at Arsenal since 2005, but has spent long spells away on loan, including loans to Spanish sides Salamanca and Osasuna.
