Weather forecasters predict the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics will not be disrupted by rain.
British people are famous for grumbling 1 about the weather, but most could be forgiven a moan after the recent onslaught of near continuous rain. After weeks of grey skies, many feared the opening ceremony would be washed out.
But senior meteorologists now believe there is a greater probability it will be dry. The British weather is a difficult beast to predict though...so for those with tickets it may still be a good idea to take an umbrella.
But looking on the bright-side is something of a British tradition and hopes are high that skies will remain clear for the opening ceremony and beyond.
