Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reaffirmed President Xi Jinping's stance towards Africa. Wang Yi called the correct concept of morality and benefit a banner of Chinese diplomacy 1. He was speaking after meeting his Senegalese counterpart Mankeur Ndiaye.

The correct concept of morality and benefit was proposed by President Xi while visiting Africa last year. The term refers to moral principle and mutual 2 benefit. Wang says China should put moral principles first in developing relations with African countries, treat African brothers equally and sincerely, and speak out for them to safeguard their rights and reasonable appeals. He says China rejects the path of the colonist 3 and the capitalist.
Wang Yi cited the China-sponsored Tanzania-Zambia Railway as a typical example of the concept. He also noted 4 the concept has served as important guidelines for China’s relations with Africa, and developing countries. Wang Yi expressed confidence it will play a positive and profound role in the future.
