布拉格恢复地铁运营
PRAGUE, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Prague resumed the operation of all its three metro 1 lines on Thursday morning after a four-day closure amidst flooding threats from the Vltava River, the Prague Public Transport Company (DPP) has announced, adding that a few most endangered metro stations will remain closed.
"We've assessed all (technical) tests and decided 2 to open further metro stations as from 5:00," DPP director Milan Kristek said earlier on Thursday morning.
He said metro trains will pass the closed stations without stopping, the stations are mainly those threatened by the Vltava River, two of them are Malostranska and Staromestska, situated 3 in the historical centre and often used by tourists. He said these stations will be reopened after the swollen 4 Vltava further subsides 5.
The DPP and the Prague City Hall originally planned to resume the metro operation as from Friday morning, but they succeeded in shortening the emergency status and managed to get the lines up and running earlier than expected.
The stopped metro lines have been substituted by provisional tram lines in the past days.
