China and Bulgaria say they will develop a comprehensive 1 friendship. A communique was issued during Bulgarian Presiden Rosen Plevneliev’s state visit to China on Monday.
This is the first state visit by a Bulgarian President to China in 15 years. Chinese President Xi Jinping said China supports the integration 2 of Europe and values its relations with central European countries. Rosen Plevneliev said Bulgaria is China’s friend and China is its most important partner in Asia. The two leaders agreed to promote cooperation in areas including agriculture, energy and tourism. The two countries signed agreements on maritime 3 transportation and the establishment 4 of cultural exchange centers.
