BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhuanet) -- The upcoming all-star Chinese film "The Founding of a Party" has released two trailers in which at least 50 celebrities 1 appear consecutively 2.
One of the trailers outlines the film's portrayal 3 of the early history of the Communist Party of China. The other trailer, edited in a comparably more lighthearted manner, contains behind-the-scenes footage.
The film, one of the biggest domestic releases for this summer, features 100-plus Chinese celebrities who flesh out a slew 4 of historical figures. Among them, Liu Ye plays Mao Zedong. Chen Kun plays Zhou Enlai, and Chang Chen plays Chiang Kai-shek.
Co-directors Han Sanping and Huang Jianxin have reused the all-star strategy from their 2009 extravaganza "The Founding of a Republic" which quickly became the top-grossing Chinese film of that year.
