Hello, everyone. I'm Creshon Saunders at the CNN Center in Atlanta.
Two separate communities in Georgia are mourning two college students killed during different times. Funerals are being held today for Auburn University freshman 1 Lauren Burk and University of North Carolina student Eve Carson. Police have a "person of interest" in Carson's case. This is a surveillance camera shot of a man seen using Carson's ATM card. That man is also believed to be driving her car.
Meanwhile police have made an arrest in the Burk case. 23-year-old Courtney Lockhart has been charged with her murder. Today Lockhart's mother extended her apologies on behalf of her son. "I am sorry for that family. I am sorry. I'm deeply sorry. I know its own had nothing else to say. I'm just sorry for the loss of that family". Neither police nor Mrs. Williams say Lockhart confessed to anything, but police are certain they have their man. Lockhart makes his first court appearance tomorrow.
In Pennsylvania, some people are still waiting for the lights to come back on. This weekend the snowstorm that battered 2 Ohio and Indiana has moved east, damaging homes, downing trees and knocking out power for thousands in Philadelphia and New Jersey 3. At one point nearly 80,000 people were in the dark.
In the world of sports now, fans of the Seattle Sonics are trying to keep the club from heading to Oklahoma. They held a march and a rally this weekend at the state capital, hoping to convince lawmakers to spend 75 million dollars to renovate 4 the team's arena 5. The Sonics might move to Oklahoma City if that doesn't happen.
A top UN official is coming down hard on Amy Winehouse and Kate Moss 6. The executive director of the UN's Office on Drugs is blaming drug-using celebrities 7 for hurting West Africa. Antonio Costa wrote in a British newspaper that cocaine 8 passed through West Africa en route to Europe. And he pointed 9 to Winehouse and Moss by name. He also likened the effect of today's cocaine on Africa to that of the slave trade.
