法国前总统希拉克入院
PARIS, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Jacques Chirac, who served as the French president from 1995 to 2007, has been admitted to a hospital near Paris, local media reported Monday.
"There is absolutely no vital emergency. We suspect an acute episode of gout," an entourage of Chirac told the media.
An AFP reporter saw an ambulance and two motorcycle policemen in front of Chirac's home near 08:00 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), before he was transported to the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, to the west of Paris.
The man, who was said to be born in 1932, has been in poor health for several years. He was admitted to hospital for one week in December 2013 to undergo "a kidney surgery".
