[1] Toyota says there were design problems with the anti-lock brake system in the new Prius which went on sale last year. A Toyota spokesperson says the problems have been fixed 1 in previous models sold since late January.
[2] States up and down the East Coast are getting prepared for a major winter storm. Virginia's governor's already declared a state of emergency. Forecasters are calling for up to a foot of snow in some parts. The storm is expected to affect the Mid-Atlantic as early as Friday afternoon.
[3] Scott Brown is expected to be sworn into office later today. Brown, the Republican, recently won the Massachusetts runoff election. He will become the GOP's 41st vote in the Senate. Brown takes over the seat once held by the late Senator Ted 2 Kennedy.
[4] It is the final morning in the US for two American-born giant pandas who are heading back to their species' native land. Three-year-old Mei Lan of Atlanta and four-year-old Tan Shan of Washington will fly to their new homes in Sichuan to become part of a panda breeding program.
