[00:08.99]A man and his girlfriend were married. It was a large celebration.
[00:13.91]All of their friends and family came to see the lovely ceremony
[00:18.42]and everyone could tell that the love they had for each other was true.
[00:22.66]A few months later, the wife came to the husband with a proposal,
[00:26.93]“I read in a magazine, a while ago,
[00:30.25]about how we can strengthen our marriage,”she offered.
[00:33.28]“Each of us will write a list of the things
[00:36.49]that we find a bit annoying with the other person.
[00:38.97]Then, we can talk about how we can fix them together
[00:42.61]and make our lives happier together.”
[00:44.98]The husband agreed, so each of them went to a separate room in the house
[00:50.12]and thought of the things that annoyed them about the other.
[00:53.52]They thought about this question for the rest of the day
[00:56.90]and wrote down what they came up with.
[00:59.65]The next morning, at the breakfast table,
[01:02.47]they decided 1 that they would go over their lists.
[01:05.00]“I’ll start,” offered the wife.
[01:07.52]She took out her list. It had many items on it.
[01:11.35]Enough to fill three pages, in fact.
[01:14.08]As she started reading the list of the little annoyances 2,
[01:18.02]she noticed that tears were starting to appear in her husband’s eyes.
[01:21.96]“What’s wrong?” she asked. “Nothing,”
[01:25.33]the husband replied, “keep reading your list.”
[01:27.65]The wife continued to read until she had read all three pages to her husband.
[01:32.46]She neatly 3 placed her list on the table and folded her hands over the top of it.

[01:40.78]and then we’ll talk about the things on both of our lists,” she said happily.
[01:45.17]Quietly the husband stated, “I don’t have anything on my list.
[01:50.42]I think that you are perfect the way that you are.
[01:53.48]I don’t want you to change anything for me.
[01:56.00]You are lovely and wonderful
[01:58.40]and I wouldn’t want to try and change anything about you.”
[02:00.92]The wife, touched by his honesty and the depth of his love for her
[02:05.52]and his acceptance of her, turned her head and wept.
[02:08.80]In life, there are enough times when we are disappointed, depressed 4 and annoyed.
