英闻天下——57 Google Forced to Change Practices over Probe
英语课
Google has agreed to make some changes to its business practices as a result of a 20-month investigation 1 by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The FTC accused the search giant of "unfair conduct" in the use of its Motorola patents and ordered it to allow others to license 2 them.
Google has agreed to allow advertisers to copy ad campaign data to other search engines among other advertising 3 practices.
But the FTC found no evidence that Google had skewed search results to damage competitors.
FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz described the commission's resolution as a relief.
"Today's action delivers more relief for American consumers faster than any other option available to the Commission and protects competition and consumers in a number of crucial markets central to the daily lives of hundreds of millions of American consumers and businesses."
Alongside the FTC investigation, Google is still under scrutiny 4 from the European Union for similar charges.
If found guilty of breaching 5 EU anti-trust rules, Google would face a fine of up to 4 bln dollars.
