　　So I had a charity sale a while back to get rid of all that stuff, and a woman named Joanie Jacks 1 didn't have much money, because she didn't have a job at the time, and the least expensive thing she could find was a pair of black shoes.

　　有时候，我的壁橱都有点放不下，所以我举行了义卖，处理那些衣物。有一个名叫乔安妮·杰克斯的女人没有太多钱，因为当时她没有工作，而她能从中找到最便宜的东西是一双黑鞋。
　　Now, she wore a size of seven and I'm 10.5 on a good day, 1 with humidity. So， she brought a pair of my shoes and kept them in her bedroom, and she said that when she got depressed 2, when things weren't going well, she would take out the shoes and she would stand in my shoes. And she said she wanted to stand in the shoes until she'd be able to stand on her own, and she used the shoes as a sense of inspiration to herself. At age of 50, she went back to college and got herself a degree, and today she's standing 3 in her own shoes.

　　That is what makes me feel successful. Of all the wonderful things hat have happened, including getting a doctorate 4, an honorary doctorate from Duke, what really makes me feel successful is being able to use my life in service to someone else's. And I will have to say, it is a wonderful thing to have a beautiful home, or homes, a wonderful thing to have a beautiful home which just escaped the fire in Santa Barbara. And it is really fantastic to have your own jet, and anybody who says it isn't lying to you. That jet thing is really good.
　　这让我感觉自己很成功。把所有发上在我身上的好事都算上，包括获得杜克大学荣誉博士学位在内，真正让我有成绩感的事情是用我的生命服务他人。当然，我得承认，有个漂亮的家真好，有个在圣巴巴拉市大火中幸免下来的漂亮的家真好。拥有自己的喷气式飞机真好，如果有人认为这不好，他就是在撒谎。喷气式飞机真的是个好东西。

　　You know what is right, and when everyone around you is letting what you should do, what you shouldn't do, and when you...have to ask more than yourself, you have to ask anyone other than yourself, it is your instinct, your higher self's way of saying, "Get still until you do know the answer, because your gut 5 will never lead you wrong." Trust your gut to help stand proudly in your own shoes, as you help others stand in theirs, and I know you will be a huge success.
　　你们知道什么是正确的，所以当身边的人告诉你们什么该做，什么不该做的时候，当你们不得不征求别人的一件而不问自己想法的时候，你们的直觉、你们的自我就会以自己方式说：“坚持做下去，直到自己弄清答案，因为你的心声不会带你走错路。”相信自己的心声，你才能自豪地穿上自己的鞋子走自己的路，如果你也能帮别人走他们自己的路，那你们定会大有作为。
