Medical aid from China has arrived in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, to help with the fight against an Ebola outbreak.
The aid materials brought by a chartered flight include personal protective gear, gloves and glasses, as well as chlorine and medicines.
Chinese disease control experts are also heading to the region.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent messages to several West African leaders, expressing his sympathy for losses caused by the Ebola outbreak.
The Ebola virus has killed over 900 people and affected 1 almost 1,800 others this year in West Africa.
Iraq's president has nominated parliament's deputy speaker, Haider al-Abadi, as the new prime minister to succeed Nouri al-Maliki.
President Fouad Massoum has given Abadi 30 days to form a new government and present it to parliament for approval.
The United Nations, European Union, and U.S. have all welcomed the nomination 2 of the new prime minister.
But the incumbent 3 PM al-Maliki has rejected the nomination, stressing his intention to run for a third term in office.
