Foreign Ministry 1 spokesman Hong Lei says China will never allow the Philippines to occupy the Ren'ai Reef off China's Nansha Islands in any form.
He made the remarks in a written statement in response to the Philippines' action of sending a supply ship to the Ren' ai Reef with journalists on board on Saturday.
Hong Lei said the Philippines' action was aimed to hype up the South China Sea issue, so as to serve its attempt to illegally seize the Ren'ai Reef.

An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter Scale hit Zigui County, central China's Hubei Province early Sunday morning according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
No further information is available.
The earthquake came after a 4.3-magnitude tremor 2 on Thursday hit the same area, which is about 30 km from the Three Gorge 3 Dam, the country's largest multi-functional water control system.
