A group of five Canadian journalists visited Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous 1 Region at the invitation of Information Office of China’s State Council. The week long visit started last Sunday and will end today.
During their stay in Tibet, the group has visited villages, schools, enterprises, Tibet hospitals and religious places.

China is paying close attention to Tibet’s economic and social development. According to statistics 3, the GDP there in the first half of this year reached over 37.6 billion Yuan or over 6 billion US dollars, representing an increase of 11.7 percent compared with the same period last year.
