1、这个情态动词在肯定句中，它的意思就是能，可以，会。
2、在否定和疑问句中表示可能性。

3、当can与有时候连用时，也可表示可能性，翻译成“有时候会”（at times，sometimes等），或者句中隐含了有时候的意思时，can也可以翻译成“有时候会”。
4、表示惊异、怀疑、不相信的态度。（主要用于否定句、疑问句、感叹句中）
