conversation 1

A:Wake up sleepyhead. The sun is beginning to shine. What a lovely summer day!

B:Yeah, clearly blue sky.But it is a bit too hot for me. I don't like heat and humidity 1.

A:It's not that hot. It's cooler than yesterday. Let's go swimming!

B:That's a thought. It's still early, and the beach isn't crowded at this time of the day. If we don't stay too long, we won't get sunburned.

A:Yeah, sounds like fun. I can wear my new pink bikini.

B:There won't be anyone there to appreciate how cute you are.

A:Who cares!Well, the smart guys get there early. That's the kind of guy I want to meet. Let's go!

B:If you are going to husband hunting in a bikini ,then I want to wear one ,too.

A:Ok, you could borrow one of mine.

B:Thanks, how about the green and black one?

A:No problem. Here it is.

Conversation 2

A:It's a beatiful day ,isn't it?

B:Yes, isn't it.

A:Do you bnow the temperature today?

B:It's beautiful 75 degrees.

A:How nice.I hope the weather will stay like this for the whole week. I'm going on the canoe trip this weekend.

B:Not a good plan. The TV weather forecast says the hurricane is coming this weekend, and the temperature will also drop to 66 degrees.

A:What a nuisance! Every time I plan to go canoeing or camping, a storm comes along. The sky gets dark, the wind starts to howl and the temperature drops.Well, I'd better stay home.

B:I never make any definite weekend plan until Friday morning. Then after listening to the weather temperature, I make my plans.

A:That's smart. I'm going to start doing the same thing.

Conversation 3

A:It's a cold and damp day.Did you get wet coming to school?

B:No, I didn't. But I hate this kind of weather, and I hate riding the bus on days like today.

A:The wind seems like it blows right though you. I was shivering with cod, while waiting for the bus. It's freezing.

B:Look at the dark, cloudy sky. It looks like more rain, may be even sleet 2 or snow.

A:Oh,no,I don't like snow. I really miss South Africa. There the day is always blue, and the sun shines brightly.

B:Wow, could that be paradise 3?

A:No,but it close. Last night I even dreamed of lying on a beautiful beach in South Africa.

B:Ok, I'll bite. What kind of suit were you wearing? Tell me it is a string bikini, and I'll smile all day.

A:If I say that, you'll daydream 4 that I wasn't wearing anything. Men are so silly. Sex is all you guys think about.

B:Reading minds is a violation 5 of privacy 6.

A:In my dreams there are never any foolish men. It was private beach. NO men were allowed. Only the sun, the warm sand and the gentle waves.

B:Keep me out of your dreams then, be cruel.

A:I'm not cruel. I'm just cold, tired and cranky.

B: I'm sorry. I like the sunshine and blue skies, but I also like snow.

A:It reminds me of a cozy 7 Christmas back in Sweden. That's when I could sit by a warm fireplace 8 with my dog. But if I sit too close to the fire, I sweat.

B:Warmth, dancing flames to watch. I just like that, tell me more.

A:In Sweden,I go cross country-skii, during the snow storm. I just look out of the windows at the world. The snows pile up higher and higher.Everything is white.

B:Don't say that snow word.It bothers me.Damp, cold and miserable 9.That's winter. It makes me sick to think about it.

A:My home town is cold in the winter, but it's dry ,not damp.

B:I must be catching 10 a cold.

A:Cheer up !Spring will come soon, and the weather will get warmer.

B:Spring is a long way away.I could get the flu or die long before then.

A:Ok, how about I give you a ride home after school?

B:That's would be nice, except I've got a piano lesson downtown.

A:Great, this evening I tutor some kids downtown. So that's where I'm heading anyway.

A:It's good to be appreciated.
