Who You Gonna Call?

OPHIRA EISENBERG, HOST:

Let's meet our next two contestants 2. First up, Josh Polenberg. You're a grant manager at Pfizer and you're obsessed 3 with board games.

JOSH POLENBERG: I am...

EISENBERG: ...Obsessed. OK, what is a board game that none of us have heard of, some obscure board game that we have to play?

POLENBERG: Power Grid 4.

EISENBERG: Power Grid.

POLENBERG: Power Grid is amazing.

EISENBERG: OK, that sounds a little too real. What happens in Power Grid? There's a blackout.

(LAUGHTER)

POLENBERG: You have to buy power stations and then buy cities to put the power stations in and then power them to get more money to buy more power stations to power more cities.

EISENBERG: Is it called Con 1 Ed? Like, what is this game? Your opponent is Joey Gutmann, who apparently 5 says that your competitive nature led you to a job as a federal litigator.

JOEY GUTMANN: That's true.

EISENBERG: Now, you are no stranger to the game show circuit. You've been on "Jeopardy," "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire," but also - and most notably 6 - a hot dog eating contest.

(LAUGHTER, APPLAUSE)

GUTMANN: The most important by far.

EISENBERG: How did you do?

GUTMANN: I won.

EISENBERG: You won the hot dog eating - how many hot dogs?

GUTMANN: It was very informal. It was - we were camp counselors 7 and we wanted to keep the kids entertained. There were eight and a half hotdogs without buns.

EISENBERG: How did you feel the rest of the day?

GUTMANN: Not great.

EISENBERG: (Laughter) OK, very good. OK, remember, Josh and Joey, the first of you who wins two of our games is going to move on to battle our earlier winner, Mary, in the final round at the end of the show. And your first challenge is a music parody 8 game called Who You Going to Call? Josh, when you're in trouble, when you need help, who do you call?

POLENBERG: Google.

EISENBERG: Google.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: Joey, how about you? Who do you call when you need help?

GUTMANN: My wife.

EISENBERG: Aw, yeah? And what does she say?

GUTMANN: Stop it.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: OK, so we are going to do the most dangerous thing we've ever done on this show. We are going to do a parody of "Ghostbusters."

JONATHAN COULTON: That's right. We took the "Ghostbusters" theme song and rewrote it to be about other things that end with buster or busters, such as gangbusters or bunker busters, two examples of things that end in busters.

EISENBERG: (Laughter).

COULTON: Buzz in to answer. And the winner will be one step closer to the final round, and the loser will be forced to listen to a redditor mansplain (ph) how the all-female "Ghostbusters" reboot ruined his childhood.

(LAUGHTER)

COULTON: Here we go. (Playing guitar, singing) There was something blue where you rented flicks 9. Who you going to call?

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

COULTON: Joey.

GUTMANN: Blockbuster.

COULTON: That's right. Blockbuster is correct.

(APPLAUSE)

COULTON: (Playing guitar, singing) If you're stalling things on the Congress floor, who you gonna call?

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

COULTON: Joey.

GUTMANN: Filibuster 10.

COULTON: That's right.

EISENBERG: Nice.

GUTMANN: I apologize so much for the singing.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: OK, here's a terrible joke I wrote - what's the difference between a ghost and a congressman 11?

COULTON: I don't know.

EISENBERG: Ghosts show up.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: Wait, ghosts are transparent 12. What do you think of that one?

COULTON: Oh, that's pretty good. That's pretty good. (Playing guitar) I ain't afraid of no dirt 'cause I have a hand-held vacuum cleaner.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

COULTON: Josh.

POLENBERG: Dustbuster.

COULTON: That's right.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: The look on both of their faces at the end of...

COULTON: ...Are you kidding me? That's all we get?

EISENBERG: (Laughter) That's the clue?

COULTON: (Playing guitar, singing) Roosevelt and Taft grab the Sherman Act. Who you going to call?

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

COULTON: Joey.

GUTMANN: Trust busters.

COULTON: That's right.

(APPLAUSE)

COULTON: (Playing guitar, singing) If you want some deals on Black Friday, who you going to call?

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

COULTON: Josh.

POLENBERG: Doorbusters.

COULTON: Yeah, you got it.

(APPLAUSE)

COULTON: (Playing guitar, singing) I ain't afraid of bar food. I hear you like skee ball. I ain't afraid of arcades 13. Chain restaurant.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

COULTON: Joey.

GUTMANN: Dave and Buster's.

COULTON: You got it.

(APPLAUSE)

COULTON: (Playing guitar, singing) An impossible claim TV show de-bunks. Who you going to call?

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

COULTON: Joey.

GUTMANN: "Mythbusters."

COULTON: That's right.

(APPLAUSE)

COULTON: Art Chung, how did our contestants do?

ART CHUNG: They both did great. Joey, congratulations, you're one step closer to moving on to our final round.

(APPLAUSE)
