All right, let's check in with our contestants 2. Jamie - so before you sold insurance, you were a singer on a cruise ship.

JAMIE SCHRAFF: I was.

EISENBERG: For how many years did you do that?

SCHRAFF: Half of one.

EISENBERG: So you loved it.

SCHRAFF: They don't let you stay there when you are expecting a child so, you know, I...

EISENBERG: ...Oh, they didn't want a pregnant singer. That is so...

SCHRAFF: ...The lady took her leave.

EISENBERG: Are you kidding me? What kind of stuff did you sing?

SCHRAFF: Cheesy old Broadway standards and, like, sappy Barbra Streisand songs - not the good ones, just the cruddy ones. And, like, Gloria Estefan stuff - whatever they needed, basically.

EISENBERG: So everything is a fond memory from this time in your life. Evan, you told us that you once - I don't understand this. You raced from New York to Boston to get a violin bow that was being held by the Fish and Wildlife Services. Is that right?

EVAN HAMMOND: Yeah. I used to work for an artist management agency for classical musicians. And so a violinist didn't file proper paperwork, and she brought a bow into the United States that had just a laundry list of parts of various endangered species.

EISENBERG: What? Like (laughter) like which ones?

HAMMOND: Like a lizard 3 from Mexico and ivory and all kinds - mother-of-pearl from some kind of really rare oyster 4 or something like that.

EISENBERG: Yeah, OK. All right, Jamie, Evan, we have a guessing game for you called Gandhi or Jolie? I'm going to give you a quote, and you're going to tell me - was it said by Nobel Peace Prize nominee 5 Mahatma Gandhi, or was it said by Academy Award winner and star of "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider"...

EISENBERG: ...Angelina Jolie? We're going to alternate back and forth 6, so you don't need to buzz in. Evan, you won the last game, so if you win this you are going to go to the final round. Jamie, you need to win this or you'll be leaving us with a used DVD of the 2010 Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie film, "The Tourist."

EISENBERG: All right, here we go. Jamie, we'll start with you. I think we all want justice and equality, a chance for a life with meaning.

SCHRAFF: Oh, please let that be Gandhi.

EISENBERG: I'm sorry, that was Jolie. Yeah. Yeah, I know. She sounds deep, doesn't she? Evan - all through history the ways of truth and love have always won.

HAMMOND: Gandhi.

EISENBERG: Yeah, that was Gandhi. Yeah, exactly. I mean, he clearly died a long time ago, but he did say that. Jamie - I've been reckless, but I'm not a rebel without a cause.

SCHRAFF: I got to hold out for my man Gandhi.

EISENBERG: That was Jolie.

SCHRAFF: Dang it.

EISENBERG: I know, Gandhi did love James Dean. But that was Jolie. Evan - you must not lose faith in humanity.

HAMMOND: This game has me questioning what I put (laughter).

EISENBERG: It does - exactly. That's the beauty of this game.

HAMMOND: Jolie. She's surprised me so far.

EISENBERG: Sorry, that was Gandhi. Yeah, she - all right, these are your last clues. Jamie - my mother was an earth mother.

SCHRAFF: I love Gandhi. Come on, Gandhi, you love your mother.

EISENBERG: No, that was Jolie.

SCHRAFF: Damn.

EISENBERG: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Evan - I kind of wanted to be a vampire 7.

EISENBERG: Think carefully.

HAMMOND: Jolie.

EISENBERG: Gandhi did go through that phase, but Jolie is the correct answer.

EISENBERG: That is a hard guessing game. Clearly they both had so much wisdom to share. Puzzle guru Greg Pliska, how did our contestants do?

GREG PLISKA: Well, Jamie, it's been terrific having you with us, but I'm afraid to say that Evan is the winner of this game and has won two games and will move on to the final round at the end of the show. So thank you both.

EISENBERG: Coming up, we'll find out who will face off against Evan in our final round at the end of the show, and comic and actor Craig Robinson will join us. He's a hit with the ladies. And we'll sing our version of a hit called "Lady." I'm Ophira Eisenberg, and you're listening to ASK ME ANOTHER from NPR.
