Gay rights backers celebrated 1 outside the Supreme 2 Court Friday, including Lena Hernandez.

Hernandez and her spouse 3, Candy Cintron, married last year when same-sex unions became legal in the state of Virginia.

The couple is expecting a baby. Without a marriage license 6, Cintron's legal rights as a spouse as well as the child's second parent could be challenged.
