1. Authorities in Indonesia say they aren’t sure any survived a plane crash in a remote mountainous area. 54 people were on board the plane that crashed in the eastern part of the country.
2. Calmer weather is helping 1 firefighters battling numerous blazes across much of the west. Fires in central Washington State have destroyed more than 50 structures.
3. China says it’s conducting a massive environmental cleanup after the explosion that has killed more than 100 people in Tianjin. Some people who lost their homes are protesting they want more government compensation.
4. And Rio de Janeiro, Brazil held a cycling event, part of getting ready for next year’s Olympics. The city wanted to see if it could close several streets for race and still function.
