Emmanuel Mutai set the course record at the London Marathon 1 Sunday, as Kenyan compatriot Mary Keitany won in her debut 2 in the British capital.
Mutai ran the 42.2 kilometer race in 2 hours, 4 minutes, 40 seconds. The 26-year-old Kenyan broke compatriot（同胞） Sammy Wanjiru's record of 2 hours, 5 minutes and 10 seconds from 2009.
Mutai ran the fourth fastest men's marathon in history.
Three-time champion Martin Lel of Kenya followed in second place, beating compatriot Patrick Makau in a final sprint 3. Both men were given the time of 2 hours, 5 minutes and 45 seconds.
The 29-year-old Keitany won the women's race with a time of 2 hours, 19 minutes and 19 seconds, making her the fourth fastest woman ever.
