The Holocaust 1 Memorial Museum in Washington is closed today one day after a deadly hate-filled attack. A gunman opened fire at the popular attraction yesterday. Police said the man just walked into the museum, immediately shot security guards Stephen Tyrone Johns who later died from his injuries. Other security guards shot back critically wounding the suspect. The museum was packed when visitors were there and when the shooting happened.


The World Health Organization has raised the flu alert to its high level today, the WHO says the H1N1 virus has spread to enough countries to be considered a global pandemic. WHO notes that increasing this alert does not mean that H1N1 also known as swine flu is deadly or more dangerous, it just means the virus has spread.


Co-ops may be a potential compromise in the health care debate. Key senators are saying that a proposal to create health care co-ops may solve some huge differences between democrats 2 and republicans. The none-profit co-ops will be based on the model of agricultural co-ops that means they would be paid for and run by members and they go on to say the co-ops would be an alternative to a government run health insurance program.


The wife of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is speaking out about people she says she considered friends, Paddy Blagojevich said she and her husband and their friends were strong enough to go against the tide and defend him. The former governor has pleaded not guilty to charges of trying to sell or trade President Obama's former senate seat for campaign favors.


Michael Jackson is being sued for 40 million dollars. A concert promoter's lawsuit 3 alleges 4 Jackson broke a contract for a reunion concert with family members this summer, it says that Jackson agreed not to perform elsewhere for a certain amount of time, They say he broke the deal by signing up for a London concert series this summer. So far, no word from the Jackson camp.
