China's direct investment in the United States reached a record high of 8 billion U.S. dollars in 2015 as Chinese firms continued to expand overseas.

Investment in the United States accounted for 5.5 percent of China's total outbound direct investment (ODI), with the manufacturing sector 1 attracting the most capital, according to a report by the Ministry 2 of Commerce, the National Bureau of Statistics and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
